Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi is a leading self-financing Engineering College started in 1984. MEPCO was established in collaboration with Metal Powder Company, Thirumangalam and Schlenk, the German collaborator of the company.
The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University from Chennai. The college has been granted Autonomous Status by UGC, New Delhi and Anna University, Chennai from the academic year 2013-14.
The College aims to produce competent and disciplined Engineers and Administrators of quality through excellent service. The College offers admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes related to various disciplines.
The College follows Choice Based Credit System and the outcome based education enabling the students to select and learn subjects of their own interest. Striving for quality in all academic activities the College includes educational programs leading to the acquisition of knowledge and skills to achieve information literacy, career advancement, personal enrichment, leadership and service to the community.
All the seven UG Programmes and 4 PG Programmes offered by the College are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi under Tier I Category. Also the College is accredited with A Grade by National Assessment and accreditation Council (NAAC).
The college has highly experienced and qualified Faculty. Of them, 87 are Ph.D. holders and 96 members of faculty are pursuing Ph.D. Academic experts from India and abroad are introduced to the students from time to time. Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi – Facilities
The College has a modern infrastructure with all the required academic and other facilities. There are separate Administrative block and Department academic blocks. Apart from spacious seminar halls for different departments and well equipped laboratories with latest instruments, the College has a Conference hall for organizing meetings, conferences, etc. There is also a modern Convention Centre in the College.
The Central Library is functioning in the high tech modernized separate building with secured learning environment of CCTV from the year 2000. The Library provides right information by bibliographic sources and full-text sources in the form of print as well as digital form covering multi-disciplines of Engineering, Technology, Science & Humanities, Management, General, etc. The resources are kept in separate places such as Stack Section, Reference Section, Periodical Section and Digital Section for easy access. With Wi-Fi technology within the campus the institutional users can access electronic resources faster.
The other amenities include canteen with separate common room for boys and girls, A branch of TMB Bank with ATM and a post office.
There are 5 hostels for boys and 4 hostels for girls in the college premises for comfortable accommodation of the students. The hostels can accommodate 1300 gents and 1200 ladies. There are Individual rooms for final year B.E. & Post graduate Gents students and shared rooms for other students. The facilities include single bed, Study desk and chair, built-in wardrobes, book cup-boards, hot water for inmates, 24 hrs phone facilities, subscription to the latest magazines and newspapers, house-keeping services for the rooms and Hygienic bath rooms with separate drying area.
The hostels provide hygienic and separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian food for the inmates in dining halls with marble top dining tables, UV lamps and music playback facilities. Hostel menu is decided by the Students Mess Committee assisted by Sub-wardens and Deputy warden.
Besides, there are staff quarters and guest house in the college premises.
The College encourages the participation of the students in sports and games by providing facilities. There are courts for foot ball, basket ball, Kabaddi, Volley ball, etc.

Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi – Cutoffs
The eligibility for B.E./B.Tech course is a pass in the +2 or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage/ A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational subject) with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage of 50.00% put together for General Category,45% for Backward Class Iand 40% for SC / SCA / ST.
The eligibility for Post Graduate Programme is B.E./B.Tech in the relevant field with a minimum of 50 %.

The College maintains modern infrastructure and facilities. Wi-Fi facility is available throughout the campus, along with well equipped labs. The classrooms are spacious and well-equipped with smart boards. The library is well maintained with high-speed internet facilities. Hostel facilities are properly maintained. The food is cooked deliciously and healthy with a variety of dishes served as needed.
Professors are well trained and they teach sincerely with productive skills. They are very supportive and interact friendly with students. They stay updated to teach the students, and their teaching is good.
