Panimalar Institute of Technology, a Christian Minority self-financing Institution of Technical Education under Jaisakthi Educational Trust was established in 2008 for the dissemination of profound knowledge among the ambitious student community in Engineering and Technology. It is located in Poonamallee, Chennai , Tamil Nadu.

The Institute aims to be an Institution of Excellence by imparting quality education and to serve as a perennial source of technical manpower with dynamic professionalism and entrepreneurship. It strives to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities for designing and developing solutions for engineering problems and imparting quality education and training

The PIT campus has a constructed area of 65.745 acres with a spacious, noise free and serene atmosphere. The infrastructure and facilities available on wholly self-contained campus are one of the very best.

The Institute has excellent and updated infrastructural facilities. These include spacious and well-lighted classroom, well equipped labs and libraries, workshops and drawing halls and Audio-visual halls, conference and seminar halls.

Besides, High speed internet connection of of 40 Mbps leased line is available throughout the campus using optical Fiber Cable (OFC).

Air conditioned and fully automated central library of Panimalar Institute of Technology has a seating capacity of 136 with about 23659 volumes and 5980 titles of books. In addition, the library also subscribes to 130 International and National journals and periodicals. The Panimalar Library is an institutional member of prestigious libraries such as the British Council Library and Indest Consortium, AICTE Delhi.

The College accommodates the students in comfortable separate hostels for boys and girls with mess and other facilities. The students are provided spacious rooms with attached bath. Guest rooms are also made available in both the boys and girls hostels. The rooms are furnished with cots, cupboards and other furniture.

 There are also spacious playgroundsfor different games and sports activities like  volleyball, basketball, kabadi ball badminton and other outdoor games.Gymnasium is also part of the hostel amenities for those students interested. It has facilities for weight lifting, powerlifting and hydraulic station. There is also a  Yoga centre allowing students to practice yoga asanas and breathing exercises.

The Institute operates 50 buses from various places including suburbs to the college making it convenient for the students and staff each the college well on time.

For B.E./B.Tech, minimum educational qualification of the candidate should be 10+2 and should have minimum 50% of mark in his/her studies as per the norms of Anna University. One of the subjects at Higher Secondary level should be mathematics.

Lateral Entry

Diploma Candidates, hould  pass with prescribed eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission to the Degree course.

B.Sc Candidates must pass with prescribed eligibility marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 years pattern and studied core Mathematics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Every year, Panimalar Institute of Technology at Chennai conducts admissions for the students on the basis of cut off marks declared by the Institute.

The infrastructure, classroom facilities and lab facilities are very good. The library is useful as it has a lot of books and the food served in the mess is good. Medical facilities are available. Teachers here are good, well qualified and knowledgeable.

They are friendly and make the students understand the particular concepts in an understandable manner. Study materials provided by the management are very useful for exams. Industrial visits are excellent.

The students are supposed to use the Wi-Fi facility only within the digital library. If the children need to present any paper presentations or projects, they can ask permission and work in the lab by logging on to the internet.
