Jeppiaar Engineering College was established in 2001 as one of the prestigious institutions of Jeppiaar Educational Trust founded by Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, an industrialist, educationalist, and a philanthropist. It is situated in Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Old Mamallapuram Road, next to Sathyabama University, Chennai.
The vision of Jeppiaar Engineering College is to develop as a world-class institution of academic excellence in technology and management education.
The College is approved by AICTE and it is affiliated to Anna University. The college is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The Institution offers 9 full time Under Graduate Programmes (B.E. and B. Tech.) and also 5 full-time Post Graduate Programmes (M.E., M. Tech. and MBA).

Jeppiaar Engineering College, Chennai – Facilities
The college is situated at Jeppiaar Nagar on Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Chennai in a campus of 48 acres. The college takes pride in having a modern architecture presenting a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere.
The infrastructure also includes a state of art air-conditioned computer laboratory with servers and internet facilities. Work stations have welding and smithy equipment’s that provide hands-on experience to the engineering students. Besides, each department has its own discipline based laboratories for study and research.
A well-lit, centralized air-conditioned auditorium having a seating capacity of 3,500with well -balanced acoustic engineered designs using sophisticated sound equipment is available. Besides, a fully air-conditioned and 540 seats Mini Auditorium and a fully air-conditioned and 270 seats Mini Auditorium ideal for a seminar or conference are also available.
The College Library is centrally air-conditioned with a specialized collection of books, journals & Non-book materials in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Biotechnology, Humanities and sciences. The collection includes 1,04,397 Volumes of Books, 8,292 Titles & 550 CDs. The college has access to 1,273+ e-resources, ASME Journals, IELonline, Springer Link. There is also Digital Library Service.
The other facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, extensive libraries, seminar halls for UG and PG, reading hall, outdoor and indoor sports grounds, medical room and dining hall for Staff, Students and visitors.
A huge mess hall which can accommodate about 2500 students at a time provides homely, healthy, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to all. All the visitors to the college, teaching and non-teaching staff take breakfast, lunch and evening snacks in the dining hall.
The college offers excellent transport facilities to all the students for commutation to and from different parts of the city. The bus routes are operated after considering the need of the students.
The College provides medical facility to all its students. A routine medical check-up is done to ensure the good health of all inmates.
Jeppiaar Engineering College has facilities for Indoor games like table-tennis, carrom and chess. It also provides facilities for outdoor games like basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, throw ball and kabaddi with the separate court for each. Indoor Stadium facilities are available for both boys and girls hostels.
The Semmencherry branch of INDIAN BANK is functioning at the campus and The facility is availed by all the students and Teaching and Non-teaching Staff.

The eligibility for B.E/B. Tech course is a pass in the Higher Secondary Examination of (10+2) Curriculum prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as three or four subjects of the study and any other examination of any university or authority accepted by Anna University as equivalent thereto.

Facilities are good here and the infrastructure is nice. Teachers are well qualified, and their teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. Each department has a beautiful infrastructure with free Wi-Fi, both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned labs, well-furnished classrooms with projectors and a library with books of different categories.
The hostel is well-furnished with many facilities. Good quality food prepared with hygienic methods is provided in the mess and canteen. The College gives a special preference to sports and other extracurricular activities.
Faculty members of the College are highly qualified and have an experience of more than 10 years. They guide the students in many situations and coach them well. Most of the faculty members have doctorate degrees. They train the students well to handle challenging situations.
