PTU Entrance Exam is an entrance test organized by I K Gujral Punjab Technical University. This entrance test is conducted every year by the University offering admissions to various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. The streams offered by the University includes engineering and technology, management, pharmacy and other courses.
All applicants must carefully go through the tentative date schedule for the PTU 2020 Exam.

The applicants need to refer the PTU Application Form before applying. The PTU application form will be released in April 2020 and will close in June 2020. All application forms are available online.
The candidtes need to register themselves online and fill all required details like personal, education and qualification, uploading of verified documents, fee payment, and printing of the filled application form. It is to be noted that the candidates must mention their category while filling the application form.
The last date for submitting of application forms vary from course to course. Application process for admission is implemented through counselling from second week of May2020 up to first week of June 2020.
Application fees vary from category to category. The General/OBC candidates need to pay Rs.500/-while Rs.250/- for Sc/ST candidates. The application fee can be paid using debit card/credit card/net-banking online. Some necessary precautions while filling the application form are, the candidtes have to provide a working email address and mobile number.
All communications will be sent to either of these options provided. Any type of incomplete or incorrect application forms will not be accepted. The applicants have to upload their recent scanned photo and signature as instructed in the application form guidelines.
The application process is inclusive of registration process, filling up of required details, uploading of scanned documents, paying of fee and printing of application forms. Applicants should note that no type of hard copy needs to be sent to the officials.
It is always recommended to check the eligibility criteria before applying. All those interested for B. Tech courses, have to qualify their Intermediate /Diploma/IB Diploma. They must score a minimum of 55% marks as aggregate. Mathematics is a mandatory subject for these exams.
Those interested in Lateral B. Tech, should qualify their diploma courses in Mechanical, Electrical/Marine & Electronics. They should be scoring at least 45% marks which needs to be approved by AICTE/SBTE.
BSc. Candidates must qualify their Intermediate from a recognized Board/University. They should be scoring a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying exam.
BA aspirants should qualify by providing their 12th class exam marksheet from a recognized Board/University. They should be scoring a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying exam.
M. Tech interested candidates should qualify their Bachelor’s degree in B. Tech or M.Sc. They should be scoring a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying exam.
MBA & MCA aspirants should be a graduate in Bachelor’s degree from any stream. They must have 50% marks to qualify.

Application Process Explained
The applicants must visit the official website of PTU exam. Press the Online Application Form Tab. A registration page opens on your screen. Enter the required details in the application form. Enter your valid email id and phone number. It should be noted that the entered email-id and mobile number are correct as you will be receiving messages to these details.
Get logged in using your registered application number and password. After completing the application form click on Submit. Once submitted move on to the uploading step. Here, upload your recent scanned passport size photo and signature. Now pay the application fee by proceeding to the fee page. A confirmation page will be generated. Take multiple printouts for the admission process.
PTU Entrance Admit Card
A few points that the applicant should be taking care of are:
The admit card will not be sent as hard copy to the candidate. The candidates must take printouts of the admit card through online only. The applicant will not receive the admit card by post or courier. All applicants should register themselves and enter their login details to download their admit card.
Admit Card is necessary to be brought to the exam hall. Please note that no candidate will be allowed to write the exam without the admit card downloaded from the official website.

Steps to Download your Admit Card
Visit the official website of PTU.
Press the link marked on home page to download the admit card. A window that asks for login credentials opens. Enter the valid details.
After you entered the details, the Admit Card will appear on your screen.
Download and take copies for further use.

PTU 2020 Exam Pattern
Candidates willing to appear for the Entrance exam can go through the exam pattern as a self booster. The entrance exam will be held online. questions vary from course to course as selected by the applicant. Accordingly, the total time also varies.
PTU 2020 Syllabus
PTU syllabus is different for UG and PG courses. The applicants can check their syllabus online. The UG courses entrance exam contains topics from 12th class subjects and PG courses contain topics from graduation level subjects.
PTU Cut Off
The cut off marks will be released for courses online
after completing the test. Cut off ranks depend on several factors such as reservation
policy, seat availability, number of appearing candidates, etc.
Cut off marks are prepared separately for
different courses. Students must obtain the cut off marks to qualify for the
admission process.
PTU 2020 Counselling
Counselling for admission to the courses depends on the cut off marks obtained by the candidate. The schedule for counselling begins in July 2020. The selected applicants have to pay Rs.2000/- as counselling fee for each course separately.
Admission begins after the seat allocation process. All selected aspiring applicants must bring the originals at the admission time. Once the documents have been verified, they will get their results.

PTU Exam Preparation Tips
The candidates can follow the preparation pattern to score well in the exam.
The Applicants must be thorough with the complete syllabus and Pattern.
Practice regularly with previous years question paper. Make a schedule for preparing the exam and follow it on a daily basis.
Stay cool and clam during the exam. Do not get tense and stressed.
Attempt one mock test per week to test where you excel.
